Animals in Pop Culture:
- In the hit animated movie Megamind, Megamind says "Oh, I'm shaking in my custom baby ____ leather boots!"
- Name the titular tiger character in Bill Watterson's famous newspaper comic.
- What breed of dog is The Peanuts' Snoopy?
- Michael Jackson had a pet ____ that reportedly slept in a crib in his room. Jackson insisted that the pet be present for the recording of Bad, and would often travel and talk with it. (+1 bonus point for naming the pet)
- Legendary voice actor Mel Blanc is known as "The man of 1,000 voices," but his most popular and iconic role is also said to have rescued from a coma. Name the cartoon character.
Back from the Dead (in movies):
- Not one but two characters are back from the dead in this entry of the MCU: the main character's immediate superior, and their childhood best friend.
- This character is back with a costume and a name change after being presumed dead: From Grey to White.
- This character and his father are both undead by the end of the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy- they also share a name. (+0.5 bonus points for naming each actor, OR +1 bonus point for naming the father character's nickname)
- Anakin Skywalker returns as Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back. The line that reveals his identity is often misquoted- What is the misquoted line and what is the actual line? (0.5 points for each)
- In this Disney animated movie, the main character's brother tragically dies while attempting to rescue is mentor from a burning building. Both are presumed dead, but the mentor is revealed to have survived as the movie's twist villain.
Scandal!
- This suffix refers to the building where an infamous US political scandal took place, but is now applied libarally to variety of words to indicate scandal, controversy or conspiracy.
- This aircraft manufacturer neglected to advise new training modules for pilots flying the 737 MAX-8, resulting in 2 crashes and the temporary grounding for the aircraft.
- Elizabeth Holmes founded this company at only 19 years old, but was later convicted of fraud- Claims that the company's flagship product could run accurate blood tests on a single drop of blood were falsified.
- In 2021 a class action lawsuit was brought against this restaurant chain, with the claim that the menu's tuna salad was "a mixture of various concoctions" containing "anything but tuna."
- This olympian won gold in the 100 m dash in 1988, and was the first Canadian to do so since 1928. However, they were disqualified after they were discovered to be doping and using steroids.
